Planning : changes + shooting
Starting from zero (again)
At this point the team had lost hopes and ha hit the rock bottom again, we were out of ideas and thought we will submit Checkmate as the final product because the deadline (provided by the professor) was in one week. After going through several breakdowns and team discussions and searching for ideas we thought it would be better if we went around and asked other groups for inspirations. After doing that we came to my house and discussed it a bit more and came up with the idea of our final cut.
We instantly started working on the moodboards and storyboards and went ahead with the shooting.
The cast :
We were looking for two best friends with a genuine bond to film this opening and why look far when the eggs are in your own nest ! Alishba Jalal Baig and I had that bond and we needed someone who was comfortable enough to show their emotions and be fragile on camera so we quickly went ahead and did the camera test for that, the team was satisfied with our acting and so the shooting began !
We shot the film in one day, this time we focused on cinematics and tried our best to keep it as simple as possible. The two props of this film were a bell and a message (“Join Me”) written on the mirror.
